Read the message and the code
eBay messages often include a restriction code such as MC011 or MC113. That code tells you what eBay needs, so note it before you do anything.
Don’t open another account
eBay links accounts through devices, payment methods, addresses and phone numbers. A new account can get every linked account banned.
Don’t send several appeals
Duplicate appeals slow your case down. One clear, complete appeal works better than five rushed ones.
Get your documents ready
Photo ID, a recent bank statement and proof of address for verification holds, or invoices and authorisations for VeRO cases.

eBay suspension FAQs
Why was my eBay account suspended?
The most common reasons are seller performance falling Below Standard, policy breaches such as prohibited items or fee avoidance, repeated VeRO intellectual property strikes, linked accounts and failed identity or financial verification.
What does eBay restriction MC011 mean?
MC011 is a verification hold. eBay needs to confirm your identity or financial details before you can sell or receive funds. It is usually solved with clear, matching documents such as photo ID, a recent bank statement and proof of address.
What is a VeRO strike on eBay?
VeRO is eBay’s Verified Rights Owner programme. When a rights owner reports your listing, eBay removes it and records a strike. Several strikes in a short period can lead to restrictions or suspension.
How long does an eBay appeal take?
Verification and performance appeals are often answered within a few days, while policy and IP cases can take longer. Sending one complete appeal is faster than sending several.
Can I open a new eBay account if mine is suspended?
No. eBay links accounts through devices, payment methods and personal details, and a new account opened to get around a suspension is likely to be suspended too, along with any linked accounts.
Can you guarantee my eBay account will be reinstated?
No honest service can guarantee it, because the final decision is eBay’s. We review your case first and tell you plainly whether it is winnable.
